Summer is winding down, and autumn is right around the corner. We’ve been feeling a hint of fall in the air this week, with a couple of dry, chilly nights. In anticipation of the autumn’s arrival, I found this beautiful photo of a pumpkin cupcake. Look at the deep orange cake and the thick, creamy swirl of frosting!

These cute little petit fours are sweet to look at, and I’m sure they’re just as tasty! They would be perfect for a baby shower, or a bridal shower. Not into pink polka dots? Use different colors of icing and make them match any theme you choose. You can get the instructions from Wilton.

Take a look at this beautiful cupcake from Cupcakes Nouveau, in Miami, Florida. Although I’ve never met a cupcake I didn’t like (sometimes the ugly ones are super tasty!), I couldn’t take my eyes off of this one when I found it on flickr. I love the little purple flowers perched atop the generous swirl of frosting, and the ribbon around the middle makes it look so fancy and elegant. If I were going to host a beautiful springtime garden brunch, I would want to serve these cupcakes! Thanks to Cupcakes Nouveau for today’s cupcake cravings!
