Temptations galore

by sugargeek on May 27, 2008

I was at Bed Bath & Beyond this morning, with my three children, trying to find accessories to match the new paint in our bathroom. (Aside: it’s never the same color on the wall as you thought it would be…) After our long and winding expedition through the perilous aisles (there are lots of breakables to avoid there), we approached the checkout with relief. But suddenly, we were waylaid by… CANDY! We grabbed a box of Swedish fish and one of the cute Wii remote peppermint gum packages, and then I snapped this photo with my camera phone. Which treat do you choose?

Candy-coated popcorn

by sugargeek on May 16, 2008

This colorful “confetti popcorn” is from the Nashville Fudge Kitchen, in Nashville, Indiana. My kindergartener helped me choose which flavor to buy, and when we couldn’t pick just one, we opted for this blend. I’m not really accustomed to popcorn that tastes like green apple, grape, strawberry, and orange, but it was yummy. Having tasted all those flavors, however, I must say that my favorite candy popcorn is still the classic — caramel! It’s the perfect blend of butter, sugar, and salt!

Peanut butter chocolate fudge

by sugargeek on May 14, 2008

For Mother’s Day weekend, my family took me on a day trip to Nashville, Indiana. If you’ve never been there, it’s a cute little art colony, with galleries, shops, and sweets shops all over the place! I stopped by the Nashville Fudge Kitchen and indulged in a few treats. One was this beautiful 1/2 pound block of peanut butter chocolate fudge. It was delicious!

And by the way, you can’t imagine the smell inside that shop! The warm, buttery, fudgey aroma was thick, sweet, and heavenly!
