Pretty Sugar Stars

by sugargeek on March 9, 2008

Whether you call them “sprinkles” or “jimmies,” these little sugar stars are sweet. If you have another name for them, I’d love to hear it! What do people call sprinkles in Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, and everywhere else?

Hi,
I’ve just found your blog via entrecard. What a delicious looking blog!!!!! :)

Sprinkles here in Australia are small little rectangular bits that are coloured or the tiny round coloured balls. Also called 100s & 1000s and/or dollar sweets.

I think things like those stars would just be called a cake decoration….not really sure.

@Lightening- thanks for subscribing, and thanks for your comment! I’ve never heard these called 100s, 1000s, or dollar sweets. It’s fascinating that there would be so many different names for little bits of sugar.
