A beautiful example of Japanese tai-yaki
This is a Japanese treat, called tai-yaki. It is like a waffle, made in the shape of a bream, and filled with sweet bean paste. It might not look or sound sweet, but it is! I remember having this when I visited Japan, and I have not seen one in 20 years. When I found this photo, it brought back vivid memories of those trips with my family. I could almost taste and smell the tai-yaki!

Many thanks to Yoshiko for sharing her beautiful photograph with us!

These colorful Thai Desserts put Jell-O to shame
I found the colors of these Thai desserts irresistible! I’m not usually a big fan of gelatin desserts, but these are much more interesting than the Jell-O I’m used to seeing, here in the midwestern United States. I admit, I don’t know what these taste like, but I imagine them as being light, cool, fruity, and sweet — probably perfect for hot weather. No matter what the flavors, they are certainly a treat for the eyes!

This beautiful photo was taken and shared by PoppyW, a graphic designer and illustrator, from Bangkok, Thailand.

Check out these sweet petit fours
These cute little petit fours are sweet to look at, and I’m sure they’re just as tasty! They would be perfect for a baby shower, or a bridal shower. Not into pink polka dots? Use different colors of icing and make them match any theme you choose. You can get the instructions from Wilton.
